Also, yes, a shareholder is an owner in the co-op we live in. A co-op is technically a corporation, and you don't exactly own your apartment -- you own the appropriate number of shares in the co-op.
Mr. Smarty-Pants, in fact, is the shareholder, not I. But I didn't feel like getting into the distinction with them, and besides, it was too awesome to just say, "yes, I am the shareholder."
