OK, maybe I'm just nuts. If I were home I'd use this as an excuse to watch another episode to test out this theory. But I'm not home, so I'm just basing this on memory and impression.
That said...
Isn't John just a little bit...
That is to say, is it possible that John is maybe, perhaps, just a tiny tad...
Scrawny?
I just... I keep thinking of him, you know, as you do, and every time I think of him I think of narrow shoulders, slim hips, thin face... He may be fit, fierce, and well-muscled, but he's just not a hefty guy, you know?
It goes without saying, of course, that this fills me with bubbling affection for him. Rodney! The beefy scientist! John! The lithe military man!
I love it.
****************************
Also: I keep thinking of Mulder, you know, as you do. And I'm SURE this has been thought of before, both in the context of SGA AND of SG-1. But... Mulder has this knack, right, of breaking into top-secret government experimental labs. And, you know, fucking with them.
So it TOTALLY stands to reason that he could somehow get himself through the Stargate. ... and maybe he could somehow end up at Atlantis. And can you imagine? He'd be all angry! And suspicious! And self-righteous!
The conspiracy--in full force! Alien cooperation! A secret operation, known only to a few powerful men! (...and Weir!) The military--all over it! Civilian scientists, lending their skills to the corrupt regime they cravenly serve! Mulder's going to return to earth and blow open their secret! At last, the people will know how they've been manipulated and lied to!
And Rodney would be all, "Hey! I don't serve any, any *regime*!" and John would be all, "You can't go back."
Mulder: "You can't stop me! The truth will be heard!"
John: "No. You can't. Go. Back. It only works one way."
Mulder: "I won't let-- ...oh."
And you KNOW he'd sulk around for about 2 minutes before nerding it up with Rodney about the crazy "alien" technology, and when Rodney got too weirded out by Mulder's crackpot theories, John would step in, all slow smiles and twinkling eyes and friendly drawl, and offer Mulder the grand tour of Altantis.
And Mulder. Would. Blush.
(bear with me, people, I'm only halfway through season 1. If this whole "one-way ticket" thing changes in season 2 I don't want to know about it.)
