A chilling little addendum to "Progeny" -- what was that "intimate torture" in Rodney's brain all about? I kind of wanted to cry after reading this, and not for the usual reasons.

Another gloomy little biscuit -- or maybe it's just my mood tonight. A simple little Firefly AU with a reversal of roles between Simon and River. Short and effective.

I don't know if I entirely grok
trinityofone's take on alternate-universe "Rod" McKay in this addendum to "McKay and Mrs. Miller", but I do like MENSA-John a great deal. This is sort of half-story, half character study, and it works very nicely indeed.

There are alien okapi in this picture. And they just loooove Rodney.

If you haven't read the story, go read it now, before you look at this amazing piece of art. They're a perfect pair, each augmenting the other. I'm especially amazed by how immediately recognizable John's nine-year old dream self is.

The Breakfast Club, Brian/Bender
I can't believe I hadn't read this story before, because the idea that it's been sitting out there in the world without my brain claiming it and chewing it up and loving it just sort of baffles me. John Bender grows up and gets a life and somehow, that life comes to include Brian, whose car has a license plate that says "Brain". I love them both so very, very much.
Did I mention it's also scorchingly hot? 'Cause, um, whoa.

Firefly, Mal/Simon (peripherally)
Apocalypse fic, and a pretty grim one at that. Not the most id-rewarding read, unless apocalypse is your thing, but pretty great anyhow.
