Today, in the Annals of Unexpected and Weirdly Phrased Racism in the Workplace...
Overheard in the primarily but not entirely white workplace today, an exchange between a white woman and a white man:
Woman: I hope those construction guys clean up this mess.
Man: Yeah, I'm sure not cleaning this up myself. I don't do that kind of Jemima work.
Woman: Uh-huh.
Man: Y'know, when I got my first job in this industry as an assistant, my boss had me cleaning up her office. And one day I heard her bragging about it on the phone to her friend! So I marched into that office, and I told her, "Get the janitor to clean your office. I don't do Jemima work."
?!?!?!
