I tried to leave a comment for this last night, but couldn't get past Gah! And this deserved a little more. Though Gah! is certainly appropriate.
I loved the entirety of this, the hot was off the scale, and that's always a treat - but it's the lead up to that point and the honest feel of it all that gives this the overall punch to the gut, and manages to drive the hot into stratosphere territory. The voices were perfect to my ear, and the pace wonderful - all of it came together so well. It's a beautifully written little story and I enjoyed it very much - thank you.
