Serenity

I saw Serenity on Saturday with a bunch of fen. And I am here to say:

I loved it.

I. LOVED. IT.

I never saw Firefly, but now I frickin' have to.

OK, there were weaknesses in Serenity. Some plot points, on further consideration, didn't make as much sense as they could have, and it wasn't visually terribly spectacular. But you know what? I DON'T CARE. Because I LOVED IT.

you hadn't seen firefly? Did Book's death still make you weep like a little baby?
::sigh:: Shepherd Book made me cry almost as much as Zoe's pain did.

Book's death didn't affect me much, actually. But I did scream when Wash bit it.

see - that's what I've heard from most people who hadn't seen the series. Book's death hit me almost as hard as Wash's - because in the series he's a real character, not the throw away character he was in the movie

hmmm...perhaps I should see this serenity? i never watched firefly, either, but if you say it is enjoyable sans the prior canon...

I will tell you that I found it to be quite enjoyable. But lately I'm thinking that my taste is maybe a little unreliable. So caveat lector. Does that mean what I think it means? Consider yourself warned. But I did adore it beyond the telling.
