That was a terrible sandwich.
There may have been something wrong with it, or it may have just been naturally terrible.
The sandwich was:
-goat cheese
-pickled celery
-avocado
-watercress
-walnut pate
-on multi-grain bread
I ate the first half of it grimacing. There was some flavor that I didn't like, but the sandwich was so complicated that I couldn't tell what the offending flavor was. So I opened up the second half and tasted the first layer: walnut pate. At first it tasted ok but then I realized that the walnuts had an almost-rancid finish I didn't like. So I discarded the top slice of bread and its nasty walnutty spread and moved on to the watercress. The watercress was coated with an unpleasant-tasting oil, so away that went. Ditto the avocado. The pickled celery, I realized, was just GROSS, so I picked all of it out of the goat cheese.
I was left with goat cheese on half a slice of multi-grain bread. I ate that, and it was delicious.
But come on. For this I paid $9.00?
