helenish has promised DOUGHNUTS AND COFFEE to all who arrive ass-early in the morning to to help her and the Bandit move into their snazzy new digs. Coffee and doughnuts, man.
But, before I go to bed, I wanted to tell you guys all about my awesome day, that it may be remembered for all time!
1) I got enough sleep last night.
2) I read more of "Throne of Jade" by Naomi Novik on the train to work
3) I got to work on time
4) I had an awesome working lunch at OTTO with some very interesting and fun people
5) I discovered the SECRET LIVEJOURNAL OMG of someone I've just made a deal with (OK, it's not exactly secret, but I'm pretty damn sure he doesn't expect me to track it down, so it feels sort of covert and transgressive and awesome to be reading it)
6) I went to Whole Foods after work and picked up some tasty vegan fixin's for a tasty vegan picnic, then went uptown to meet Mr. Smarty-Pants at his campus and eat dinner.
7) The campus is green and lush and the weather today was summery and perfect, and we sat enthroned in grassy splendor, with squirrels circling warily around us, and ate.
8) Mr. Smarty-Pants's friend Big Harry Potter came by and joined us: he's studying ancient Greek. The boys studied and I read more of "Throne of Jade" (omg so awesome so awesome so awesome). The birdies sang. The breezes whisped. The world, she was beautiful.
9) The sun set. Mrs. Big Harry Potter, AKA Hello Kitty invited us to come up to their newly enlarged and spiffified apartment for a glass of wine and some lively conversation; we did; it was great fun.
10) Now we are home, and we are a happy couple of campers. What a lovely day.
