I hate calling my elected representatives' offices, whether I'm asking them to behave a certain way, or yelling at them for fucking over their constituents (namely me).
I love talking on the phone for almost any other reason. Interviews, cold-calling business calls, friends, enemies, whoever. I like talking on the phone, and I'm good at it. But when I call Senators Clinton and Schumer's offices to ask them to please not strew rose petals along Bush's path while he masticates and spits out my civil liberties and 4th amendment rights, well, my heart gets going so fast and hard I feel like I might faint or cry before I get taken off hold. It scares the living daylights out of me.

Date: 2006-05-16 06:50 pm (UTC)I was calling today to ask both Senators to oppose Bush's illegal domestic spying programs, and to ask Schumer in particular to give Hayden a hard time about his NSA spying program while he's up for confirmation hearings with the judiciary committee.
