If my heart could beat it would break my chest

I hate calling my elected representatives' offices, whether I'm asking them to behave a certain way, or yelling at them for fucking over their constituents (namely me).

I love talking on the phone for almost any other reason. Interviews, cold-calling business calls, friends, enemies, whoever. I like talking on the phone, and I'm good at it. But when I call Senators Clinton and Schumer's offices to ask them to please not strew rose petals along Bush's path while he masticates and spits out my civil liberties and 4th amendment rights, well, my heart gets going so fast and hard I feel like I might faint or cry before I get taken off hold. It scares the living daylights out of me.

Would e-mail be easier on your nervous system? They give e-mails good weight, too. Hillary e-mails me constantly. Chuck sent me one e-mail that said thanks, and that's about it.

BTW, what specifically were you contacting them about? Or, was it just a general "Quit it!"?

dude, I know

This whole presidency has been SURREAL. I hope your heart is calmer now.
