This is a photo of the top of my stove, where the dial for the oven is.
This stove is so old that the numbers around the dial had been WORN OFF, so when I moved in and wanted to start baking, I had to hand-calibrate the silly thing with an oven thermometer and a sharpie. Every time the housekeeper comes she scrubs off my calibration, so I keep this photo taped into the front of my family cookbook for reference when I draw it back on.
