Last night, I sat down to read an SGA story by a very respectable author. But I almost clicked the "back" button right away, because she misspelled John's name! She spelled it "Sheppard" like three times in the first paragraph.

I was shocked -- shocked! -- that someone so a) meticulous and b) experienced in SGA fandom would make that mistake. I shook my head in condescending wonder. What was the world coming to?

Then I thought, "but how is it spelled?"

And then I looked it up.

Yeah, oops.

Jeeves and the Accidental Engagement, Jeeves & Wooster, by Propaganda. It's Jeeves' turn to find himself unwillingly fettered to someone with no Y chromosome. Bertie to the rescue!

Nevermore, The Philadelphia Story, by Valderys. CK Dexter Haven... and MIKE. I feel like I've waited for this story my whole life.

Run fast and dig deep, Watership Down, by qwerty. Hyzenthlay reflects on her new life away from Efrafa.

The man with a gift for finding things, The Outlaws of Sherwood, by Nestra. This is a wonderful Will/Much story, and I HEART IT.

I posit:

At least half the people who send in "overheard" conversations to Overheard in New York were actually participants in those conversations.

Discuss.

I just sent a work email that contained the word "omg" in it, and my outlook spellcheck asked me if I wanted to correct the spelling to "OMG".

Bless it, the sweet little thing, it's learning my language.
