A strategy of dubious merit

So I'm trying to lose a little weight -- nothing extreme, I just want to get back where I was this time last year. ~10 lbs or so.

In the interests of encouraging this process, I went shopping last week and bought a bunch of blouses in a slightly-too-small size. Now I'll HAVE to loose the weight, right? So the buttons on my cute new shirts don't pop?

...We'll see if this works.

I bought an "aspirational t-shirt" this weekend. Of course, it was only $15.

"Aspirational shopping!" I LOVE IT.

*minimizer bra* :)

But I don't WANT to minimize them! They're my best asset! I'm hoping fat will miraculously melt off my ribcage, back, and belly, but that my girls will stay JUST THE WAY THEY ARE.

*crosses fingers*

Gah! Back fat is the worst. *hates on back fat* *wishes you luck*

*psst*

you know what's worse than backfat?

KNEEFAT.

How did my KNEES get fat?! The knees are, like, 90% of the reason I'm on this diet right now.

[identity profile] svilleficrecs.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I suspect that it's a combination of the fat itself and the fact that every year as we get further from being teenagers, our skin gets ever-so-slightly worse at holding the fat together in a smooth, aesthetically pleasing subcutaneous layer. Yay wisdom and aging!

*stupid knees*

*plots revenge on knees*

*also plots revenge on the march of time*

In happy news, I have just purchased a proper sports bra so I can huff away on the treadmill without incurring serious discomfort in my chestal area.

I kept a too-small tweed blazer on this principle. It didn't actually fit after I lost the ten pounds, though.

AGH! Don't tell me this! For I, too, have a tweed blazer. And BY GUM, I will WEAR IT AGAIN.

I did the same thing too...

[identity profile] goddess09807.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I ordered my prom dress to be made about a month and a half before actual event and gave measurements that were about a size and a half smaller than actual.
I kept a picture o what dress was supposed to look like by my mirrior and by the time dress arrived, it fit perfectly!

Just find a source of inspiration and you can do it.
