Music recs?

Dear Livejournal,

My dad's birthday is fast upon us! My mother tells me he wants a CD of
"Indian music." With "GOOD MUSICIANS." I'm assuming she/he means Indian
classical. Here's what I know my dad likes in general:

- sensitive, subtle musicianship
- things that aren't too loud
- instrumental music

I know he already likes Ravi Shankar and Hariprasad Chaurasia, so maybe
someone along those lines?

Any recommendations? I really don't know anything about Indian classical
music...

I recommend Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, and Mukesh; they do the tracks for a lot of Hindi movies, including the really good old ones. I'm at school right now, but when I get home I can upload what I have for you!
